CAPE TOWN

Cape Town, one of South Africa’s capital cities, as a destination for unforgettable meetings or incentives travel. Recognized as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Cape Town also offers a rich diversity of experiences to the visitor.

( INSERIRE FOTO CAPE TOWN )

Cape Town, today one of Africa’s and South Africa’s leading cities, has a rich history and heritage.

The city began life as a refreshment station for the Dutch East Indies Company’s trading ships in the 1650s. It was founded by European settlers, built by slaves from Indonesia and incorporated the indigenous inhabitants, the Khoi-San, and later the Bantu tribes from the north into a vibrant, multi-cultural mix.

Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu and traditional African beliefs coexist peacefully in this proudly multicultural city. They all bring unique flavors to Cape Town’s rich melting pot. This eclectic combination is today reflected in the cuisine, music, architecture and dress styles of the city’s inhabitants.

There are more restaurant options than there are days in the year to dine in them; outdoor activities cover everything from sun-worshipping to hiking, biking and braving the icy surf; colorful festivals introduce visitors to Cape Town's celebratory lifestyle and behind it all is the magnificently beautiful flat-topped Table Mountain.

The natural beauty of this city has been protected and preserved throughout the years. Built around iconic Table Mountain and along the peninsula leading to Cape Point, Cape Town faces onto the Atlantic Ocean and is famous for its beautiful white sand beaches, pristine mountain landscapes and botanical gardens. The city also acts as a gateway to the gorgeous and varied wine regions of the Western Cape.

Within an hour you can exchange urban landscapes for the charming towns, villages and bucolic estates of Winelands destinations, such as Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

 ( INSERIRE FOTO VIGNETI )

Hermanus is a prime whale-watching location, and also a base from which to organize shark-cave diving. You clients may enjoy playing Golf on superb golf courses appreciated all over the world.

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

This is the jewel of the region. Immerse your incentive travel group in the African bush at South Africa’s leading game reserve, the Kruger National Park. Covering an immense area, the unspoilt wilderness of this destination is home to an abundance of wildlife including the Big 5 (the lion, elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo and leopard) as well as a legendary host of unique and interesting animals and vegetation.

The big surprise is the abundance of wildlife roaming freely through the park looking for both prey and water. Encompassing more than two million hectares of wilderness that is dotted by baobab and fever trees, low lying shrubs and the Marula and Mopane trees, the Kruger National Park offers superlative game viewing opportunities.

There are many ways to explore the park. During the early morning and late afternoon you will head out on game drives to spot the mighty elephant, the gangly giraffe, fierce buffalo and the short-sighted rhinoceros. Besides the larger mammals, there are host of smaller creatures such as the buffalo weaver, the elephant shrew and the ant lion, all more likely to be spotted on a guided walking safari through the bush.

( INSERIRE FOTO LEONI )

Although Africa’s majestic wildlife is the main attraction to the region, the accommodation in and around the Kruger National Park is well worth the trip in itself. Ranging from colonial style decor to modern, super luxurious safari camps; we can arrange a trip of a lifetime including gourmet cuisine, often eaten outdoors at night under the beautiful African skies, luxury spa treatments and a host of other activities that will leave a lasting legacy with your incentive travel group.

design delights

At the start of 2014 Cape Town became the first African city to assume the mantle of World Design Capital, an accolade previously held by Turin, Seoul and Helsinki.

Some 450 ideas have been chosen as official WDC2014 projects and events that encapsulate the Mother City’s winning slogan ‘live design, transform lives’, including urban regeneration schemes for the poorest suburbs and improved public transport with the expansion of the MyCiTi bus rapid transit system.

The World Design Capital 2014 is in the process of using innovative design to transform the city. It’s already one good-looking metropolis, from the brightly painted facades of the Bo-Kaap and the bathing chalets of Muizenberg to the Afro-chic decor of its restaurants and bars, and the striking street art and innovation incubators of The Fringe and Woodstock. The shack communities of the Cape Flats are a sobering counterpoint, but even in these deprived suburbs there are enterprising projects that put food from organic market gardens on tables, or stock gift shops with attractive souvenirs.

TIPS

  • Book for your next Incentive Group in advance: it’ll help you to find the right availability at the main properties
  • Minimum stay: 6 nights
  • Best season: the dramatic sand dunes at Sossusvleican be visited at any time of year but the dry May to October winter months are widely regarded as the best time to visit Namibia for game viewing - especially in Etosha National Park. The skies are clear, the animals are increasingly concentrated around water sources as the dry season wears on. Prepare however for freezing night time temperatures in June and July whereas September and October can be extremely hot. The summer rains between November and April turn the country green and occasionally bring floods to the desert. December can see very rewarding game viewing in Etosha and summer is the best time to go to Namibia for bird watching.

( INSERIRE IMMAGINE )

Mysterious & Enigmatic with its seemingly endless red and burnt sand dunes of the desert and Sossusvlei that is surely one of the most spectacular sights; the Etosha National Park "Great White Place" one of Southern Africa's finest and most important Game Reserves whose games viewing are really excellent, where thousands of animals roam free; the Fish River Canyon the second largest canyon in the world after the Grand Canyon. The immensity of this magnificent landscape is truly breathtaking. The towering rock faces and deep ravines were formed by water erosion and the collapse of the valley due to movements in the earth's crust over 500 million years ago. The legendary Skeleton Coast where great Atlantic waves pound a burning shore littered with shipwrecks, often shrouded in fog where only giant seal colonies and hungry jackals live. ; Swakopmund welcoming the travelers with palm-lined streets, seaside promenades, fine accommodation, a pleasant summer climate and nice beaches. Damaraland: one of the most scenic areas in Namibia, a huge, untamed, ruggedly beautiful region that offers the most adventurous challenge. Many different varieties of cultures and ethnic groups: Herero, remote communities of Himba tribes people Himba, San, Damara, Ovambo now mixed up with European and Southafrican cultures.

Fly or Drive

Namibia is unlike any other country on earth!

There are two major ways to travel through Namibia: travelling by light aircraft by hopping in to a series of desert camps and lodges, or with fully equipped private safari vehicle (or a combination of the two) with your own expert guide or naturalist.

Flying has the obvious advantage of speed and occasional spectacular aerial views of the scenery.

A Namibian fly-in safari in a small plane will take you from one desert scenic wonder to another: the incredibly colored rock strata, endless dunes, towering mountains, deep gorges, aridity and the apparent absence of life makes it seem like visiting a strange deserted planet.

Travelling by private vehicle takes longer but enables you to appreciate the changing scenery slowly revealing orange dunes followed by great gravel plains and dramatic gorges; to enjoy fascinating side trips en route. All explained and interpreted by your expert guide.

Southern Africa: wild luxury - Golden Vip World

Venus? No, simply Earth!

Southern Africa: wild luxury - Golden Vip WorldThe ultimate safari is to the Skeleton Coast National Park where spending four days in one of the remotest places of the globe.  This is a land of multicolored wind sculpted dunes, of desert adapted wildlife, giant clay castles and hundreds of miles of hauntingly desolate shoreline where shipwrecked mariners knew they had no hope of survival.

Huge Atlantic breakers crash against a “burning shore” littered with whale carcasses and ship planking while inland, desert elephant wander with infinite slowness, blown and sculpted by the persistent breeze.

Southern Africa: wild luxury - Golden Vip World

Some people do live here, though. Inland you can meet a tiny community of Himba people who have for centuries survived by oases with their goats which provide almost everything they possess. The women cover themselves in ochre colored henna. Their dignified beauty and complete absence of possessions makes them appropriate custodians of this strange and hauntingly beautiful land.

It takes two hours flying to reach the Skeleton Coast National Park one of the richest and most spectacularly beautiful desert regions on earth.

A specialist desert guide takes you in an exploration vehicle like a tiny insect crawling across unending yellow, red and coffee colored dunes sculpted into swirling shapes by the oceanic wind. Then in the distance an intensely white shoreline shimmers like a mirage against the blue Atlantic.

And finally enjoy an extraordinary good buffet lunch seated in deck chairs on the beach sensibly close to a colony of thousands of Cape fur seals.

Southern Africa: wild luxury - Golden Vip World

The Place of Mirages

Southern Africa: wild luxury - Golden Vip WorldThe word Etosha can be translated to ‘place of mirages’, ‘land of dry water’, or ‘great white place’ – depending who you are speaking to.

The Etosha National Park is situated in the Kunene Region of northwest Namibia.

It was established in 1907 when Namibia was a German colony known as South West Africa. At the time the park covered an area of 38, 500 square miles but due to political changes over the years it now covers a protected area of great significance, that is quarter its original size.

The Park is mainly flat and dominated by a large shimmering salt pan which measures 80 miles in length and 31 miles in width. 12 million years ago is was a shallow lake as fed by the Kunene River. Climatic and tectonic changes have since lowered the water levels and now the pan only holds water for a short time every year.

It is one of the best places to spot cheetah and black rhino as well as many rare antelope species like Damara dik dik, roan antelope and black faced impala. The birdlife is prolific with a count of 340 species which include a blend of savannah, wetland and semi-desert birds. In the summer months it is teeming with flamingos and pelicans and the perennial springs attract a large variety of game and birdlife during the months of March to November - before the start of the wet season when the landscape is covered in yellow blooms.

Southern Africa: wild luxury - Golden Vip WorldThis is a photographer’s paradise – especially in the early morning and late afternoon when they go through an amazing range of color changes from orange to pink, purple and deep blue, forming mirages from the distorting heat – the perfect backdrop for capturing those iconic images of oryx meandering across the salt pans.

The sensational rain clouds also form an interesting contrast to the dry and hostile landscape. The Luxury lodges and comfortable camps with attentive personal, world class service have carefully designed seating areas that overlook the numerous waterholes which attract an array of wildlife including impala, zebra, gemsbok, wildebeest and herds of elephants and lion prides.

When we speak about safari people generally think about morning drives through the African Bush…but have you ever thought about a safari by night? What about a safari when the sun sets?

This is completely different and the bush is totally transformed; a whole variety of nocturnal animals come out when the sun goes down.

At night, your senses are magnified; your hearing is keener, and you can expect to have a completely different adventure. This is an exciting experience.

When night falls you optimize your odds to see the big five: the elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhinoceros…but you also have the chance to see nocturnal animals such as the pangolin, aardwolf, honey badger and more.

The Etosha National Park of Namibia has many waterholes with fountains and natural springs, which are the best spots to observe animals drawn out of hiding to drink at the water’s edge.

Amazing Damaraland

Southern Africa: wild luxury - Golden Vip WorldDamaraland, named after the Damara people who inhabit it, is one of the most scenic areas of Namibia filled with fascinating places to visit for those seeking a more cultural experience. Lying between the Skeleton Coast to the West and the Etosha National Park to the East, Damaraland is a fantastic self-drive destination that offers some of the most unique landscapes and vistas in the world. Famed for its beautiful sunsets, the region is also a photographers dream.

Home to the largest population of free-ranging Rhino in the world and the famous desert elephants, Damaraland also boasts places of significant anthropological interest. The Brandberg is Namibia’s highest mountain and home to the famous “White Lady” bushman painting whilst Twyfelfontein is a wonderful rocky outcrop with thousands of Bushman engravings.

Spitzkoppe is a pointed mountain that is a place of great mystery to the ancient San people. All this rugged exploration can be rewarded by a massage at one of the world class spas in the area, most of them overlooking the untouched landscape.

The Petrified Forest, millions of years old, makes for an exciting daytrip taking in the weird and wonderful contortions of the aged trees and The Vingerklip (finger rock) is a towering finger of limestone that rises 35m above its base – a remnant of a plateau formed over 15 million years ago.

Northern Damaraland has the highest concentration of games in the region, with grassy hills dotted amongst the acacia trees throughout the plateau whilst volcanic peaks formed by volcanic activity break the endless plains in Southern Damaraland.

The wildlife, birds and plant life coupled with all the anthropological attractions means that a trip to the Damaraland requires careful planning. Let our team of experienced consultants put together the perfect Damaraland trip for a holiday of lasting memories.

We must not forget the game species that can be seen in the reserve, including Oryx, mountain and plain zebra, springbok, red hartebeest… And more.

Imagine for just a moment, sleeping under the stars in the middle of the Namib Desert. This is made possible by  your Lodge, situated close to the Namib’s Sossusvlei dunes. From the top of your chalet, you will find all you need to sleep, with your head in the stars.

  • Apart from lions and crocodiles, pay your maximum attention to hypos while crossing the Okavango Delta and in case you decide to take a bath!!
  • Experience the stunning beauty, the unimaginable vastness, the isolation, the astoundingly prolific wildlife of the best kept African secret; one of Africa’s greatest wildlife experiences along the Okavango and Chobe Rivers hosting the teeming animal life.

( FOTO ELEFANTI CON JEEP )

The UNESCO, officially declared the Okavango Delta its 1,000th World Heritage.

A unique safari experience in a spectacular setting, you will be amazed by a Luxury Safari Boat; this state-of-the-art luxury cruiser drifts down the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers in northern Botswana and Namibia. The guest bedrooms with sliding windows opening onto the water and the 360 degree view deck offers idyllic viewing for African wildlife as well as brilliant sunrises and sunsets.

Or...on the back of an African Elephant...standing more than 4 meters tall, weighing nearly 4 tons in muscles and bones; according to certain it would be impossible to ride. In this part of the world, the bush wakes up very early in the morning. Along the snaking Okavango River, a special procession is making space for themselves amongst trees and tall grass. A row of elephants winds through the Okavango Bush with grace and peace.

Or...on board of your canoe, the safari takes on a new dimension with a different point of view on the bush and its wildlife. On the water, take the time to look, listen and smell… a few hours will be enough to be in harmony with the nature. And in the evening while everyone recalls the strongest moments of the day sipping on their drink around the fire, the local Chef prepares a sumptuous dinner.

Southern Africa: wild luxury - Golden Vip World

The seasons

It has a wide variety of landscapes – vast savannah plains, arid deserts and enormous glittering water deltas.  The progressing seasons influence each of these diverse areas in different ways, so any time could be the ideal time for planning to visit this destination.

You can enjoy a marvelous trip here at any time of year; it’s a country with huge numbers and a particularly wide variety of animals – more elephant than any other, lots of cats and abundant birdlife. At times the landscape can change before your eyes, as the annual Okavango “flood” advances through May and June, or as a summer thundershower causes desert flowers to spring to life. December to March draws over a hundred migrant birds to the Okavango Delta, while the dry last six months of the year see plains game and elephants gathering in phenomenal numbers on the savannah plains of Savuti, Selinda and Linyanti.

Most of the country is uninhabited and given over to wildlife and  the Government wisely pursues a policy of discouraging mass tourism. This protects the environment and means that you can enjoy a wonderfully private experience from remote luxurious camps. Because many are located on private reserves a wide variety of game viewing activities are possible, from open vehicles to horseback, boats, canoes, quad bikes and fascinating walking activities.

Okavango Delta

Southern Africa: wild luxury - Golden Vip WorldA quirk of geology causes the great Okavango River to run inland, finishing its course in the centre of the desert creating an enormous green fertile oasis called the Okavango Delta.  Swaying palm trees, oceans of rich grassland and abundant pure water create a paradise for millions of animals.  You can explore the Okavango Delta from your exclusive camp with expert guides by open vehicle and on short fascinating walks. On a Botswana safari you can glide silently along breathtakingly beautiful waterways in a Southern Africa: wild luxury - Golden Vip World mokoro canoe or take a lazy boat cruise as the sun sets and flocks of birds come home.

This Delta in Botswana, surrounded by the Kalahari desert is fed by the Okavango River which starts in the mountains of Angola. Instead of flowing to the Atlantic Coast it runs inland, before becoming trapped a complex network of geological fault lines. The Okavango Delta is a miraculous living thing, replenished spectacularly between April and June following rains in Angola. Then, you can see this “flood” of fresh waters spreading visibly at a mile a day through the narrow channels and lagoons, creeping into the edges of floodplains and islands. The water is so pure that you can safely drink it.

The Chobe National Park

Southern Africa: wild luxury - Golden Vip WorldThe Chobe National Park is one of country’s best known wildlife conservations – one of the largest on the African continent. The park is best known for its huge concentrations of elephants – some 120,000 individuals.

The Chobe National Park offers extreme contrasts and a variety of wildlife experiences. It covers a variety of vegetation types that vary from tropical habitats like the Linyanti swamp to the extreme desert like landscape of the Savuti, and the sands of the Brachestegia woodlands to the lush grasslands of the Chobe floodplains.

The wildlife is also diverse and ranges from water animals like crocodiles, hippos and a variety of fish species to the forest and dry land species like buffalo, giraffe, eland, elephants and zebra. Predators are numerous, especially in the Savuti area, including cheetah, hyena, leopard and lion. There are also over 450 species of bird in the park.

Explore the Chobe River in the dry season with its huge herds of elephants and buffalo, or brave a rainy season safari where you will bear witness to thousand of migrating zebra being chased on all sides by ravenous predators. The park offers wonderful photographic opportunities.

The main safari season in Zambia runs from April to November: at that season game viewing become progressively more spectacular. Winter, with average temperatures of 20°C, is the best time to travel between the months of June and August. The land of the legendary African walking safari; Victoria Falls,  the wild Zambezi River, abundant wildlife,  and raw wilderness,  all in one friendly country.

Blessed with awe-inspiring natural wonders, an abundance of wildlife, huge water bodies and vast open spaces, Zambia offers unforgettable holidays exploring the real Africa.

In the warm heart of Africa, it is known as one of the safest countries in the world; offering some of the finest Safari experiences on the planet, including face to face encounters with Nature at its most wild.

Victoria Falls presents a spectacular sight of solemnity, beautiful and lurid on the Zambezi River, forming the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It was described by the Kololo tribe living in the area in the 1800’s as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ – ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. Recently called as the greatest curtain of falling water in the world.

True Safari Experience

Zambia - Golden Vip WorldIf you love the thought of a slow immensely fascinating three hour bush walk with a world class guide, dream of paddling a two man canoe down the Zambezi as elephants cavort at the water’s edge and kingfishers dive, or crave the excitement of watching a gorgeous leopard move with graceful power through the savannah, you’ll certainly enjoy a Zambia safari experience.

A Zambia safari is for people who like their safaris a little more active and adventurous and because the best camps have been set up by enterprising guides, the accommodation, while certainly comfortable, is at heart a “bush camp” each with its own personality.

The Zambezi is one of the world’s great rivers, up to half a mile wide. Its faster flowing near Victoria Falls, slower and filled with wildlife 500 miles east by the Lower Zambezi National Park. From June to November the Lower Zambezi teems with wildlife.

The highlight of a Zambia safari in the Lower Zambezi has to be the unforgettable sight of elephants emerging from the bush at the end of a long day to drink, splash themselves down, play and relax on the river. You could sit in a boat with a cool drink and watch them forever.

Zambia Seasons

Zambia is the safari country most influenced by seasonal weather.  The reasons are that some areas have “cotton soil” which is impassable after a small amount of rain, and also because the Luangwa River is not controlled by a dam so it floods part of the National Park in the Luangwa valley.  The main safari season in Zambia runs from April to November.  As that season game viewing becomes progressively more spectacular.  By July many of the seasonal waterholes have dried out so more animals make their way to the Zambezi, Luangwa and other rivers for vital water.  The Zambezi is often besieged by elephants by late afternoon in the second half of the year!

Victoria Falls is at its fullest from February to September and you can enjoy a wide range of adventure activities there all year round.

Southern Africa: wild luxury - Golden Vip World

Mighty Zambezi

In the long dry season the Zambezi is the main water source for thousands of animals. From mid- afternoon elephants, cats, antelope and buffalo emerge from the bush and crowd the water’s edge. This is the best time for a slow boat ride or even better to drift past at a respectful distance in a stable canoe. From a superb camp the guides will take you downstream by boat past all the animals and birds. Then a vehicle will meet you and you can see them all again as you meander back to camp as the sun sets.

Zimbabwe - Golden Vip World

With the magnificent Victoria Falls officially recognized in The World Heritage List; David Livingstone, the Scottish missionary and explorer, is believed to have been the first European to view Victoria Falls on 16 November 1855 from what is now known as Livingstone Island.

Many of its national parks contain the classic Big 5 – Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino. Zimbabwe is also world famous as a birding destination; Hwange National Park

once home to San Bushmen, is now home for some of Africa’s largest herds of elephant: you can watch the breeding herds as they play together, walk together, refresh at the waterhole and see the huge bulls as they stand on their hind legs and pull down branches and leaves to munch on.

It also contains some of the highest concentrations of birds on the planet.

Mana Pools National Park attracts hundreds of animals and is one of the very best game-viewing destinations in Africa. The park, bursting with wildlife, sits on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, making it great for not only game-viewing but water activities too. Combine game drives and bush walks with relaxing boat cruises, canoeing safaris and fishing trips for the perfect safari holiday.

Hidden like a treasure in Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls National Park, lies “the grand old lady of the falls”, better known as the Victoria Falls Hotel. Built in 1904, the 5-star hotel is a majestic combination of Edwardian architecture and African influences.

Zimbabwe - Golden Vip World

Safari seasons

Zimbabwe - Golden Vip WorldDream holidays here are significantly affected by the changing seasons. The best times to visit are in the long dry season from April to the beginning of November. During these months the weather can be some of the most pleasant in the world with long sunny dry days and crisp cool nights.  Hwange’s plains game and 25,000 elephants gather in increasingly large herds as seasonal waterholes dry out and cats and smaller creatures become easier to see as vegetation becomes more sparse. Walking through the wilderness is a delight at this time, as is canoeing the mighty Zambezi which is often lined with wildlife of all kinds and abundant birds.

Nearly all of the country’s rain falls between November and the end of March. During these months the enormous elephant and plains game herds in Hwange disperse due to the abundance of groundwater, and in the World Heritage Site of Mana Pools, it become difficult in the sticky “cotton soil”.  Victoria Falls is also seasonal and at its fullest between February and June. At other times of year the falls are still spectacular and you can see parts of the rock formations behind the cataracts. The wide range of activities at Victoria Falls are possible at most times of year.

Make sure you call us at an early stage so that we can design an itinerary that is perfectly matched to the time of year that you want to travel.
